I use shadows and half-images to hint at the viewer's eroticism in the painting. By no means do I want to shock a connoisseur of beauty with direct images of exposed body parts. The modern world is overloaded with anatomical information. The abundance of debauchery, filth and violence around, including in painting, is overwhelming. Hyper-sexuality for show is no longer a surprise. The depiction of the naked body in painting has lost its alluring, sacred meaning.
